A workshop designed for the absolute beginner with some hands on time.

Topics covered include:

            

           A brief history of alpacas

           Basic alpaca husbandry

           Farm set up for alpacas

           Breeding alpacas & alpacas as pets

           What to look for when buying alpacas

Workshop 2 - Creating a Breeding Plan

A workshop designed for the alpaca owner who wants to achieve faster & more consistent results in improving herd quality. 

Topics covered include:

            

           Why a breeding plan is important

           Setting breeding goals & creating a plan

           Traits to focus on to reach your goals

           Objectively assessing your alpacas

 

Cost:    $65.00 per person or $95 per couple   (approx. 3+ hours)

Workshop 3 - Understanding Alpaca Fleece

This workshop is for the alpaca breeder who wants to understand more about what makes quality alpaca fleece & explains fibre terminology.

Topics covered include:

            

           The importance of fleece testing & objective traits in alpaca fleece

           Terminology explained (Micron, SD, CV, CF etc)

           Subjective traits in alpaca fleece

           Hands on fleece assessment

           What traits make a fleece more valuable

           Improving your fleece plus much more...

 

Cost:    $65.00 per person or $95 per couple   (approx. 3+ hours)
Text Box: We offer these workshops in response to a need in the alpaca community for clear & accurate information. We have proven experience in running successful seminars for alpaca breeders over the last few years through organising the ‘National Alpaca Fibre Seminars’. We bring these same skills to our workshops conducted on our farm at Candelo near Bega or at your stud. Workshops can be run on a one to one basis or as a group, there is no minimum number required. Each workshop is designed to allow plenty of time for questions & each participant or couple receives a full set of notes to take home for further reference. We also include a goodie bag of products/special offers & discount vouchers. Refreshments supplied. Attend 2 or more of our paid workshops & receive a 20% discount on the 2nd onwards.

Workshop 4 - Marketing & Selling Alpacas

Once you have some alpacas to sell you need to know the best ways to go about achieving sales, as well as making money from alpacas in many other ways!
