Giovanni is a son of the famous Brigantine well known for his lack of medulation & ability to maintain a fine micron with age, and a grandson of the renowned Highlander. His grand dam is the famous Maid of the Mist.
All male cria that Giovanni's dam has produced have been of a quality sufficient to become stud males, an indication that she carries quality genetics.

Giovanni, now in his 9th year is still a handsome stylish looking male with a neat well balanced solid frame & displays a fleece with well defined crimp amplitude & stapling, as well as a lack of medulation, and is retaining a fine micron & good SD as he ages.
His fleece stats are often those of a male half his age.

He is very similiar to his sire Brigantine in looks & carries the same ability to maintain a lack of medullation as he ages & also to pass this trait onto his progeny.
He has a pleasant temperament & is a delight to work with.

We believe he will compliment our breeding goals of maintaining a low micron & style over time, but add further density & reduce medulation in our herd without sacrificing what we have already achieved.

Atlanta is a classic example of the style Giovanni can produce.
This lovely female in only 2 generations has improved from this very Chilean style female (below) with almost no coverage or fleece length & noticeable guard hair.

Giovanni has produced ultrafine cria in the past & our cria from him have only started to arrive from early 2009. He is so far producing cria with mostly dense stylish & very greasy fleeces with a noticeable lack of medullation. The cria have excellent fleece coverage, bundling & crimp definition.

See below for some of his progeny fleece stats.

So, this improved but still lacking female was put to Giovanni & the result is Atlanta, who exhibits all the traits her dam & granddam were lacking due to Giovanni's ability to improve these females short comings.

This female was put to a larger framed sire & produced a nice female,  (below) who although very fine fleeced was still lacking in coverage & density & had only a soft crimp definition.
